As soon as I feel like Summer has overstayed her welcome, Fall stops by for a visit. Then, after a few days of gray skies, and night time showers, cool evenings on the porch, and crisp mornings, it is clear she has decided to move in. Slowly, she unpacks, making herself at home, placing a few brilliant colors here,
an incredible sunset there,

and in the mornings, she gently wraps the mountains in warm cloaks of soft white and gray clouds.
Fall's perfect degree days allow for more of this:
nature play. When I was growing up, it was just what we did, we played, in nature. Now there's a term for it. Nature Play. It seems redundant. Like, air-breathing, shouldn't it always go together?
Oh well.
So we are enjoying more adventurous nature play. If Lubird sees a pool, she's in. She doesn't care if she doesn't have a suit, or if she has to climb down rocks to get there. She's a water baby.
Fall also brings the return of tiny slippers, leotards and the "point, flex, point, flex" mantra of ballet class....

the first day of school...
and a little more time to snuggle with my little one.

Speaking of little ones, Baby Sister is getting married.

We heart Ben and Boo.
Happy Friday.
